Once upon a time…

You were a city I’d just arrived in

a new house in a new city

I was afraid I’d get lost

I couldn’t go far away of you

when I stayed, I’d get lost in you

the baby excitement of my discoveries

.

Photographs age as soon as they are taken

time collapses into yellow clouds in the gazes

the shutter is relentless

as clicks, we’ll be each other’s memories

as clicks, throws us off cliffs

as clicks, my tears

.

Let’s get away from the streets of sound

you’ll forget me no way

I’ll forget too, for sure

.

I love the sun in your freshly washed undershirt

our lovemaking on the rope smells of indigo

geraniums appear on and off from the balcony

I think you were the last time in my mouth

Al Yazmalım trucks on the rainy street

I think it’s time!

Time to go… Painting. Credits go to Jean Tatton Jones
